Water Survival Training (back..)
This course is designed for officers operating in vessels, pier side, over water, or near water who want to learn or reinforce their basic water survival skills. Also, the course includes familiarization with the smaller rescue items that are available to police and fire such as the rescue disc, throw bag, and the CO2 inflatable preserver.

- 10 hours
- Cost:
- Is based on a per-student rate with a minimum of ten students, and a maximum of twenty.
- Pre-Requisites:
- The prospective student will be currently assigned as a law enforcement officer, security protection specialist, or on active duty in the military. The student's parent agency must provide certification of current employment on the registration form.
- Required Equipment:
- BDU's, swimsuits, boots. SSNW will provide equipment for pool training.
- Course Overview:
- The course covers the following topics:
- Drowning Recognition;
- Overview of Hypothermia;
- Swimming Techniques;
- Escapes;
- Treading Water;
- Rescue Methods and Devices;
- Water Entry Techniques;
- Ditching and Donning of Gear and Equipment.
